Current Event #3 3/3/17

The Icon A5 (pictured) is part of a fresh generation of design-led light aircraft shaking up an industry with new concepts.

For my current event I picked to do mine over ICON A5 which is a new type of aircraft. This aircraft costs about 207,000 dollars but is an amazing piece of technology. While equip t to fly thousands of feet into the air, its like no other air craft, the steering is i identical to a cars steering made easier to learn, taking about thirty hours to almost master. Then for the throttle and controls is similar to a plane. To take off it works like a plane with skis on it, it builds up speed flying across the water and raises in altitude from there. While only weighing 1,510 pounds and is only 23 feet long, so storing this amazing toy would be pretty easy compared to any other air craft., it would be similar to storing a boat in the process you use.

Canva vs Lucid press

Blog Post: 2/21/17 Canva vs. Lucid Press
Now that you have been exposed to two online design programs, write a 5-10 sentence reflection on your thoughts on both of them.
  • Which one was the easiest to join & use?
  • Provide 2 pros/cons of using both Canva & Lucid Press
  • In your opinion, which program created the nicest, trendiest documents?
  • Which program provided the most "free" features?
  • Overall, which one did you like the most? Explain...
Today -- finish up your Lucid Press assignment from Thursday.  Make sure all three of your documents are posted to last week or today's blog post.

**If you finish early, please work on something else quietly.  Thanks & see you on Thursday!

For me, I found that Canvas Site was easier to use. A pro for that was probably the variety of designs they had for templates. But a con was a large chunk of their templates you had to pay for. Lucid press was pretty good the best part about them is you did not have to pay for most of their templates. But a con for them was it was a little more difficult to work with. For the final product, I felt that Lucid press looked more professional through the designs and just overall. Overall if I had to pick one of the two to use again I would pick Lucid press, just because of the aspect of it looks more professional.

Sweet Heart Weekend 2/14

Sweetheart weekend I did not go to the dance instead I went on a hunting trip with some friends and family. That Friday after school, about 12 of use pilled into cars and drove five hours to Cuba Kansas. Cuba, is about 24 miles outside of Nebraska. We went bird hunting for three days on public land around the cabin we were staying at. It was a lot of fun and one of the luckier hunting trips I have been on. Almost all of us maxed out on our limit at least one day that weekend.

info graphic reflection

Blog Post2/27/17 - Infographic Reflection
What have you learned about Infographics?  Did you enjoy creating your own? (please explain). When might you use an Infographic in your school work, personal life, or other?  Which Infographic site did you use?  Was the site easy to navigate? Would you use it again or look for another site?

I learned a lot about info graphics,  for mine I used pictochart and if I have do another inforgraphic I am going to use that site. It was easy to use along with that, it had a variety of templates. This was probably one of the projects I enjoyed more because of the freedom we had on it, along with that it wasn't a very difficult project. I might use an infographic again in a project if I need to promote a certain thing. If I were to do that I would definitely use the same site.

Info graphic Knowledge Feb 23

  • What is an infographic?
  • What is the purpose of an infographic?
  • What type of information is best displayed in an infographic?
  • How can an infographic help convey your message to an audience?
  • How might you use an infographic in your class assignments?

An info graphic is almost like an online banner you can make on pictocharts website. Its a cool tool to use because you can pick out different designs.  The cool thing about this website is that you can use it for everything. There is not only one use for these online banners. The best way to display information on this though is probably comparisons. Comparing two different things. It is really easy to help you convey your message to the audience, because there is a lot of room to put charts, graphs, and text to describe your topic. Along with that you can tie it into the classroom, because you can use it for a variety of presentation styles, along with the fact it is easy to work with.
